ShiveWorks

Dynamic materials are materials that have properties that are controllable in space and time (inertial, elastic, electromagnetic, etc). ShiveWorks, the whole device, consists of a series of segments that can be actuated individually or in groups to simulate a variety of static or dynamic shapes with these properties.

ShiveWorks is a dynamic material research project at Worcester Polytechnic Institute started by project lead, William Sanguinet, and engineer lead, Jakob Jandus.

The ShiveWorks project is intended to be used as a research tool to study the behavior and the potential applications of dynamic materials.
